Small / Tiny Tattoos (1 hour or Less)
These tattoos can be done within reason.
To ensure we keep the tattoo aging well over time; she need to keep line openings as separated as possible so that they don’t bleed together. The less details in these designs the better!
There’s a few instances where Meg would require a consultation, or will require multiple images to properly give an estimate.
If there are scars she will be working around or with, she will want to see it in-person to determine if they’re truly healed enough to tattoo over. Photos just don’t seem to show it well enough.
If she is fitting a piece in-between, or is layering with other tattoos, it’ll be best for her to see the space and/or piece(s) she will be working with.
If you have a few elements you want to put together, and brainstorm more. Sometimes sitting down together helps a lot!
If any of these apply to you, please reach out to book an FREE in-person consultation!
Custom Sessions
*these sessions require an in-person consultation, or video/email consultation, plus specific sort of image(s) to be able to design your tattoo before-hand. Only time you don't require one is if your design is very simple to plan and gather information for.
When choosing your custom piece, you’re welcome to look for references of other art, photography, or tattoos, etc. Meg’s best advice when saving images, is to not get attached to a specific tattoo or piece of art, as well keep in mind we will be making the design something that only YOU have! We do not want to copy other peoples work or designs. No matter the art type! We want to be inspired from them instead!
You can also research/brainstorm some of it with Meg at a consultation if you would like!
* Inspiration methods Meg recommends when brainstorming your idea(s) is:
Look at the styles of other tattoos outside of what your subject or theme is! This will allow the design to be completely unique to you!
You can also look for specific details in tattoos that you would like to include in your piece such as line-work/line-details, colors or color schemes, texture/techniques, and background elements such as how some stars and leaves are drawn, or watercolor style type, type of shading, etc. She will be able to combine these together for you!
FONTS/SCRIPT: Meg can combine a few font details together to make your own font that no one else has!
**Please let her know if you are wanting the new design to fit in-between other tattoos, or layering with other tattoos! She may need an in-person consultation to make sure it sits properly in the new spot!
* both tattoo's done by Meg

Corrective Sessions
*these sessions require an in-person consultation, or video/email consultation, plus specific sort of image(s) to be able to design your tattoo before-hand.
types of Corrective Sessions:
Covering-Up Tattoos
Adding Onto Existing Tattoos
Finishing Existing Tattoo
Re-Touch, Re-Work, Fix-Up an Existing Tattoo
Cover-Up Sessions:
Cover-Up sessions will require for you to know what sort of tattoo you’re hoping to cover the existing tattoo with!
Art OR designs that have complex textures, heavy saturation, bold lines and certain colors are good candidates for a cover-up.
Having a bit of an idea first before seeing Meg always helps, but you can always brainstorm something with her during an consultation.
Some things you’ll want to keep in mind when deciding to get a cover-up is you want the cover section to not be in the center of the design. The new design will have to distract from the cover-up area of the tattoo. This typically makes it so that the new design has to be bigger than the one we are covering up.
**Please let Meg know if you are wanting the new design to fit in-between other tattoos, or layering with other tattoos!
An in-person consultation will help to make sure it sits properly in the new spot!
Re-Touch, Fix-Up, Finish, or Adding Onto Sessions:
These sessions require either an in-person consultation, or really good images for Meg to see what will be needed to achieve the goal you’re hoping for!
She can let you know what can be done or not done, or anything else you need to know to achieve that goal with her, and then give you an estimate for the project as best as she possibly can. Please keep in mind, some corrective multi-sessions are difficult to estimate.

Pre-Drawn Sessions
These designs are ones that Meg has drawn ahead of time, either for fun, or because she’s been excited to tattoo those sorts of tattoos!
They are discounted from her regular hourly rate, and some of them are cheaper because she’s VERY excited to tattoo them, and would love to put it in her portfolio!
Some designs are able to have slight changes within reason; just bring them up to Meg when you’re discussing the design, and she can let you know if that one is able to be modified.
* Design alterations may cause the price to change.

Replicating Art & Hand Writing Sessions
Meg enjoys replicating art, or the handwriting of people that are important to you. Or maybe you just wanted some of your own art as a tattoo, or a meaningful reminder in your OWN handwriting!
Always bring in the original piece of artwork, or writing, etc so she can truly see what it looks like; and to both the consultation, as well as the tattoo session!

Appointment / Prices Questions & Answers
-
Consultations are FREE of charge!
We have these appointments to discuss your tattoo idea, brainstorm, gather a bunch of information, references, and to answer any questions you may have!If seeing a rough sketch of your design before your session is important to you; then you’re welcome to book an ‘see the sketch’ consultation.
Once we are done hashing out details, tattoo risks, prices and estimates, deposit policy, tattoo prep and aftercare, what to bring, etc; we can look at booking a tattoo date!
At that time, is when I would require a payment for a non-refundable deposit. You will be given a deposit policy agreement form either before, or at the time of your booking!
We can also have post-tattoo consultations if you want to see if your tattoo is healing properly; or if it’s healed already, see if you require a touch-up! Otherwise, you can just send me pictures of your healed tattoo. -
I work by appointment only! Please reach out to me to book in before dropping by the shop! You can do this through my social media tattoo pages, email, or video call!
If you’d rather not come in, we can do consultations, follow-up consultations, booking, rescheduling, through those places as well! The times you will be required to come in is during the following instances:
cover-up’s, fix-up’s, re-touch, or adding onto an existing piece will require for Meg to see it in person.
you require more of an in-depth consultation to plan your design, etc.
the space you’re getting tattooed has a scar or skin condition, and you want to see if it’s possible to tattoo over it.
if you have tattoo’s we will be working around or layering the new design with. It’s possible to use just pictures of the spot, but some areas are tough to properly fit that way cause of how much the body curves. That’s when an in-person consultation will help a lot.
to see sketch appointments are often useful, so that we can make sure it fits really good, as well as make any changes you or Meg feels necessary.
if you’re unable to sign the deposit policy agreement digitally, I can meet you at the shop quick to accomplish this. We can also do the deposit payment there as well.
sometimes tattoo’s don’t heal as good as one would hope, and sometimes it’s good to come see Meg for a touch-up consultation. Once in a while a photo of the tattoo will be enough to see what needs to be touched up, but sometimes it’s best to see it in-person too! Whichever method you’d prefer, we can book for. But there will be the odd time that Meg will request for you to come-in so she can have a better look at it!

There’s a few things you can do to prep for getting a tattoo.
First, skin care. Taking care of your body before hand only fuels your skin to be able to handle tattoos even more!
Eat good food
Drink lots of water
Hydrate your skin with lotion
Exfoliate the tattoo area 2-3 days before your session date
Get really good rest
No alcohol or drugs within 24+ hours of your tattoo session
Second, prep your home and lifestyle for healing your tattoo.
Some tattoos may require some time-off for healing. It is required for you to not submerge your tattoo for a few weeks; for example, if you have a lower forearm, wrist, or hand tattoo you will not be able to wash dishes by hand. It all depends on what you’re getting done. That is also something you can discuss with me during your booking or consultation to plan for it at the best possible time within your schedule/lifestyle!
You’ll require freshly clean sheets to sleep on for the very first night of your tattoo to prevent any infection. Also keep in mind, there’s always risk of the bandage leaking ink and plasma type fluid, so you may want to have a spare sheet set prepped just in case!
Lastly, you’ll require some unscented soap, and lotion for healing! If you get the transparent bandage (Second Skin, or Tegaderm) then you don’t need it right away, but it’s best to have it on-hand in the chance that your bandage has decided to not stay on, or you get an allergic reaction to the bandage adhesive. You will have to give your tattoo a clean, even if you have a new piece of bandage to put on immediately. You’ll want to keep it as clean as possible to prevent infection!
If you get the traditional pad bandage, you’ll need to have these two items for immediately after your session regardless!
-
The most important things I requires you to bring is:
cash for your payment at the end of the session, unless you are paying by E-Transfer.
a form of government I.D (personal identification card, driver’s license, or passport)
your license plate number to sign-in your vehicle once you’re in our unit
MOST IMPORTANT: please eat before your session to prevent dizziness and fainting! It also feuls your skin to handle the tattooing process!
You’ll want to come to your appointment well hydrated already. But definitely bring some beverages to your appointment to keep you comfortable! Please keep them non-alcoholic and cannabis-free.
If you’re appointment is particularly long, you’re welcome to bring a clean blanket if you wish. But as a heads up, my unit can be a little hot some times.
Bring some snacks to keep your body fueled! You’re always welcome to order some food while you’re here if you would like!
-
You’ll require freshly cleaned sheets for when you’re sleeping, as mentioned in the ‘prepping for your appointment section’. You want to prevent infection as much as possible, even with the transparent bandage (Second Skin, Tegaderm).
Unscented Soap, and unscented lotion is required for aftercare of your tattoo.
*You will get instructions brochure at your appointment.
If you work or are in the sun a lot, you’ll need some sort of covering for your tattoo. Such as a shirt, scarf, arm band, etc.
UV breaks down ink pigment, and fresh tattoos are even more susceptible to it happening.
You can only apply sunscreen after your tattoo is COMPLETELY healed. But even after sunscreen is applied; your sun exposure with the tattoo should be kept to a minimum to ensure it’s longevity. -
** These areas are highly common for ink fading or completely pulling-out.
After your appointment, you will require someone else to wash dishes by hand, as you cannot submerge your hands to prevent infections.
If you have a job where you submerge your hands in water or other substances, or work in a dirty environment, or a job where it will rub a tattoo spot a lot, you’ll be needing to take some time-off work for optimal healing results.
**Free touch-up time is forfeited when aftercare isn’t followed for best results.
Hands seem to get super swollen after the tattoo session. You’re welcome to take Ibuprofen, or apply a cold compress in a clean bag with a freshly clean towel.

** These areas are highly common for ink fading or completely pulling-out.
After your tattoo session, you will be required to keep your feet from rubbing anything, as much as possible. Rubbing the tattoo a lot can cause the ink to fade/pull-out, or not heal as nice.
If your design is close to the bottom of your foot, or on the bottom of your foot, you will be required to stay off your feet as much as possible for a few weeks as it heals. Tattoo’s typically take 3-4 weeks to heal. Sometimes upwards to 6+ depending on many circumstances such as placements, how you’ve taken care of your new tattoo, or some bodies are just quicker or slower to heal than others.
You’ll also want to try to keep your feet out of shoes a lot to prevent infection from developing. Wearing cotton socks is the best to keep it protected, while still allowing for it to breathe. If all you do is walk for your job, you may want to find some modified duties, or take some time-off to ensure you’re getting the best heal as possible.

At the moment I can only accept cash, and E-Transfer.
Sorry if that causes any inconvenience for anyone!
I am working towards having debit and credit options available.
-
I only charge my hourly rate when my machine is running, and I am actually tattooing!
Please keep this in mind when booking your tattoo or scheduling around your tattoo session! Tattoos aren’t something to rush, and you especially don’t want to rush your tattoo artist!
When a tattoo quote/estimate is given to you; it’s only the time tattooing that is considered. Please account for added time due to:tattoo prep
breaks (washroom, food, bring back sleeping/numb body parts from sitting, etc)
after tattoo wind down to ensure a better bandage experience
-
Once you’ve had an tattoo session with me, and your tattoo has healed up completely; you’re welcome to request a touch-up, or book a consultation with me to assess if it would require a touch-up, as long as it’s WITHIN 3 MONTHS of your final tattoo date!
-
No, I do not. Sketching and designing time is complimentary to the tattoo service.
The only time I require any payment before the tattoo session, is after the consultation has been completed, and we’ve arranged a session date; I will require a non-refundable deposit per tattoo design to hold the appointment time slot(s)! At that time, you’ll need to read through the Deposit Policy Agreement form that I will either give to you, or send to you through our conversation.
Deposits mainly makes sure that Tattoos By Meg Hel will have some of the time covered, in the chance of these few instances:a last-minute reschedule, cancellation, or a no-show. If that event arises, the deposit will be forfeited.
is when the originally discussed design is being changed to something different. At that point, I will request a new deposit to cover lost time on the consultation and designing.
Otherwise, if all goes well, the deposit goes towards your final payment when the tattoo is completed.
